University City newsletter...flying bird

To volunteer, please, use the form in the Contact us page or send an e-mail to editor@... to help with the editing of the newsletter or distribution@... to help with its distribution.

Why a newsletter?

Because communication is critical to our community, UCCA has launched in May 2002 a monthly newsletter which is delivered neighbor-to-neighbor, building community, fostering communication and providing information on topics and issues of interest for more than 5 years.

See the issue July 2002, the 3rd newsletter issue. Would someone have the very first issue of May 2002 and scan it, so we can put it online?

Be the bearer of the good news each month! Help with the newsletter production and distribution, the talents of the community volonteers are always welcomed.

Tell us about you!

Provide UCCA with information about your organization and its news and events.

Advertise your business or events in the UCCA newsletter.

Or, simply,... tell us how you do feel about the newsletter, what subject would you like to read about, etc.

Send an e-mail to editor@....

Newsletter distribution

The newsletter is distributed door to door every month.

Our goal is to have volunteers on every block distributing newsletters to their neighbors. Can you help by delivering to 20-25 homes on your street or an adjacent street the first week of each month? If you can't commit to each month, would you be able to volunteer as a substitute? It could be the occasion to go out for a walk or get some exercice while helping!

The neighborhood coordinator serves as a pick up point for those delivering the newsletter in a specific area. Neighborhood coordinators and substitute are also needed.

Assistance is also welcomed from youth groups or organizations and students who would like to do community service.

With each additional volunteer, we can break down the delivery area a bit more. More help is still needed in some parts of University City.

To volunteer, please, contact the newsletter volunteers coordinator at distribution@....

Tell your friends in South and North U.C. that the monthly issue of our newsletter is available to them at local shops, the 2 libraries University City library and the North U.C. Library, the 3 recreation centers Doyle Recreation Center, Standley Recreation Center and Nobel Recreation Center, Swanson pool, the Jewish Community Center, and local churches.

Thanks to all who have answered our appeal so far!

Reporter and photographer

Help wanted: UCCA needs a reporter and a photographer to help our growing newsletter.

If you’re interested, contact the UCCA editor by e-mail at editor@....

Newsletter archive

Some newsletter issues are available here below for uploading. First save the pdf file on your hard disk, then open it from the list of downloads or from your folder.

Most of these files load slow but, once loaded, they can be printed out for easier reading. The newest issues are in color.

You will need Adobe Reader to view those newsletters. If you do not have it, you can download it for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/reader.
